“The baby will be here before we know it, and I want to make sure I’m not missing anything!”

As a parent-to-be, it’s a thought that crosses your mind often.

If you’re like most of the people I work with, you’re someone who likes to be prepared. You want to know what to expect. And hey, if you can have some degree of control over how everything goes, well, that’s even better!

But whether it’s through inconveniently-scheduled local childbirth classes or late nights poring through Google search results, you’re finding it a lit-tle challenging to connect with the information you need in a way that works for you.

For example:

→ You really don’t want to have to slog through hours of dry, clinical, cookie-cutter information that might not even be relevant to you

→ Whether it’s because life is already hectic or because your baby is due SOON, taking a whole month of your life to learn everything you need to know just isn’t an option

→ The sheer amount of information out there is overwhelming. Plus, how can you tell what’s actually current and/or accurate?

→ You’re way too tired to stay up late learning about what goes into creating a birth plan (and to put on real pants, tbh.) They weren’t kidding about pregnancy being exhausting!

→ While your parents, in-laws, co-workers, barista, and big sister’s BFF’s best friend are full of stories and advice, having so much conflicting info flying your way is honestly kinda stressful

Sound familiar? It’s not just you!

Between the changes to your body & your schedule and the not-so-small task of getting ready to welcome a whole new little human into your world, pregnancy can really throw you for a loop.

Plus, there’s a WHOLE LOT of noise out there. Some of it is great, but plenty more is outdated, too generalized, or doesn’t apply to you and your specific pregnancy. Not to mention that when you’re constantly faced with information that makes you nervous about all of the things that could go wrong, it can really rob you of your joy.

Here is the truth :

Your questions, needs, and wishes around pregnancy and birth are just as special and unique as you are!

You deserve non-judgmental, personalized guidance, and you shouldn’t have to delve through dozens of pages of sometimes-questionable Google results to get the information you need.

How great would it be if you and your partner could get the help of an expert to demystify everything you need to know about birth, create solid birth & postpartum plans, and get all of your (potentially awkward) questions answered?

Imagine what a relief it would be if that expert on all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum could…

- Guide you through exactly what you need to know about birth

- Show you her tried and true comfort measures, positions, and exercises for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery

- Help you create birth and postpartum plans so you’re well-prepared for bringing your baby Earthside and welcoming them home

- Answer all of your questions, including the ones specific to your unique pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences

Oh, and what if you could do it all 100% virtually (not that you need an excuse to rock your comfiest, stretchiest pants)?

And what if it came with 30 days of unlimited Voxer support so you could still get feedback and support for the questions that inevitably pop up after your session?

Well, now you can!

Love note

The Voxer support was priceless.

When I had pain, Katie would send me videos to make sure we were talking about the same spot. When the baby wasn’t kicking, she held my hand virtually all evening in the hospital. It feels so much more peaceful to be able to talk to someone I can trust – who cares about me – than it is to just Google my concerns and terrify myself with the possibilities.”

Meet Your New BFF/Big Sister/Mama/Favorite Auntie…

who just so happens to be an expert on all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I'm Katie Painter

a Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Birth + Postpartum Doula, and Certified Prenatal + Postpartum Pregnancy Yoga Teacher based in Richmond, Virginia.

As a Full Spectrum Doula certified by Cornerstone Birthwork Training, I’m specifically trained, qualified, and experienced in providing essential support not just during pregnancy, labor, and birth, but during the too-often-overlooked postpartum period, too.

I work with clients in-person and virtually, and over the past 5 years, I’ve helped hundreds of families grow!

Why do I do what I do? Well, did you know that…

→ Only 10% of parents-to-be take any sort of childbirth education class?

and

→ One of the most important factors that determine the way you feel about your birth experience is how much you felt like an active participant and whether or not you felt heard?

Surprising, right? Those two stats mean that the vast majority of parents-to-be are not receiving the education and support they need to prepare and make informed decisions for pregnancy, labor, birth, and life with a newborn.

That’s definitely not what I want for you (and I doubt that’s what you want for you)!

There’s no right way to be pregnant, to give birth, or to parent – there’s only the way that works best for you. I’ll be there to help you map out Plan A, and if we need to pivot? I’ll help you prepare for Plans B, C, D, and E, too.

VIP Birth Day Intensive FAQ

  • A: Yes! Whether you’re planning to give birth at home, at a birthing center, or in a hospital, our time together will be centered on you and your wishes. Plus, you have LOTS of options in a hospital setting. They might not always be clearly or carefully explained to you, so it’s my job to help guide you through what those options are.

  • A: 100% YES! Whether you’re leaning toward a medicated or unmedicated birth (that’s my preferred terminology – because having an epidural or c-section does NOT make your birth any less natural!) I’m here to help you be aware of what your options are, get clear on your goals, understand what needs to work out with your body and your baby for those goals to happen, and be as prepared as possible for any detours you might need to take. I will never judge you, and I will never make decisions for you. Instead, I’ll make sure you have the information you need to feel empowered to make those decisions for yourself.

  • A: It’s a great start, but not all birth classes are created equal. Too often, hospital birth classes teach you more about how to be a good patient rather than what your options are… and you have lots of options even in a hospital setting! Many of my clients actually came to me after taking a hospital class because they realized they’d need way more information than they were given in class to make better decisions.

  • A: The thing I hear most often from 2nd-time parents who work with me is: “I never knew it could be like this!” Whether this is your first baby or your fifth baby, I don’t think you can ever be too knowledgeable, prepared, or empowered.

  • A: Feel free to send me an email with your question! That way, I can get you the info you need to decide if VIP Birth Day is the right intensive for you.

VIP Birth Day is here to provide you with the information and preparation you need for the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period you want.

No more wasting hours sifting through dry, cookie-cutter info that doesn’t apply to your specific pregnancy.

No more spending hours falling down Google rabbit holes, only to log off more nervous and anxious than you felt before you sat down to try to find answers online.

No more “helpful” horror stories or endless unsolicited advice from family, friends, colleagues, and random strangers.

Just you, your partner, me, my years of experience, and all of your questions & worries – addressed and put to rest so you can relax and focus your energy on what matters most: your growing family.
